10. The Kolkata Dock
The Kolkata dock is one of the most haunted place in Kolkata. It is said that the Nawab Wajid Shah, who once owned the dock haunts the place so as to take revenge from the Britishers. The place looks beautiful during the day, but very eerie at night.

9. Writer’s Building
The writers building in Kolkata is one of the most haunted places in Kolkata. The building once belonged to the junior servants and administrative staff. Few rooms here are abandoned and have been closed for decades. The people working here never dare to stay till late evening. The people who live nearby have heard screaming, giggling, laughing sounds and other unusual sounds from the building during midnight.

8. Ghats of the Ganges, under the Howrah Bridge
The ghats under the bridge are one of the most haunted places in Kolkata. The place is divine and very spiritual and lot of people come here to take a dip in this holy river. But few of them could never make it back and lost their lives because they drowned in the river. People have seen a lot of unusual activities in this place especially early morning around 3-4 am, where they could see hands of people above the water as if they are asking for help.

7. Hastings House
Hastings house is one of the most haunted place in Kolkata and is also one of the most oldest building. It was once a government residence but now it is converted into a Women’s college. The students have seen a ghostly figure of a man riding a horse and other have witnessed the ghost of boy who died here on the football ground. A lot of girls has also been possessed making it one of the most haunted place.

6. Putulbari
Putulbari or the house of dolls is one of the scariest place. It is said that the top stories of this building is a home for evil spirits. And no one ever dare to go up.

5. South Park Street Cemetery
South Park Street is one of the most haunted places in Kolkata. This is one of the oldest cremation ground and a lot of British soldiers are cremated here. People have seen a white ghostly figure. Though the ghosts are harmless but one incident that happened here was a group of people went there and one of them got an asthma attack and the rest fell ill.

4. Royal Calcutta Turf Club
Royal Calcutta Turf Club or the race course road is one of the most haunted places in Kolkata. Here you can see a beautiful white mare galloping at night on full moon nights. The story unfolds that George Williams and his Mare has won several races on the road and one fine day the mare lost the race and next day was found dead on the tracks. Since then she has been haunting the place.

This metro station is one of the most haunted places in Kolkata. More than 80% of the suicides in Kolkata take place here. And people have witnessed strange figures crossing the tracks. And the place is eerie.

2. Nimtala Burning Ghat
This is one of the oldest ghats in Kolkata, where the body of the deceased is burnt.  It becomes very scary during the nights of kali pooja and people restrain themselves from going inside. Also the Aghori Babas practice cannibalism. Scary!

The library has millions of books and also a ghost. The people have heard sounds of footsteps approaching them. Some have heard faint breathing near them when they just misplace the books or keep them anywhere. It is said the ghost is of lady Metcalfe, the wife of the governor. She is harmless but she doesn’t like it when you keep the things here and there in her house.
