Capacity: First of all you should check the capacity of the room don’t go for any random air conditioner (AC). As per an rough idea an area in range of 120-140 sq.ft. is required 1 ton ac, area between 150-180 sq.ft. will need 1.5 ton ac and area between 180-240 sq.ft. required 2 ton of capacity air conditioner brand. Split or Window AC: People got confused what type of AC they should choose for their home Split or Window. No doubt that window ac are cheaper and easy to install, instead split ACs are quieter, aesthetically more pleasingly and provide better air distribution.

Weather Conditions: While selecting an air conditioner, you should look for AC that can work efficiently even in extreme weather conditions of Indian summers.
Cooling Speed: AC should have an adjustable thermostat (temperature setting) and at least 2 cooling speeds and a minimum of 2 fans speeds as you may want to use variable speeds for different times of the day.
Exposure to Heat & Sunlight: In case your room is near to your kitchen or the wall of your room is directly exposed to the sun, then you need an AC which have higher cooling capacity.
Hot & Cold AC: With the passage of time people’s requirement is increased they don’t need only AC which provide cool air they also look for the air conditioner which can provide both cold and hot air. These hot & Cold AC also save up to 35% more energy than heaters. It is recommended to buy AC with features which can control humidity and give more comfort in monsoons.
Use of AC: If your AC usage is around 8-10 hours a day for 3 to 4 months, then you should go for minimum 3 star rated AC. In case AC usage of 5 to 7 months then select 5 star rated AC. If your usage for 10-12 months then you must opt out cooling ac only or Hot & Cold Inverter AC.
